About PostRally
What it is
PostRally turns community events into LinkedIn posting races. Organizers set a board of photo challenges — “selfie with someone new”, “shout out a speaker” — and project a six-digit join code. Attendees sign in with LinkedIn, complete the tasks in their own words with their own photos, and every post publishes to their own feed with the event's hashtags and tags attached. A live leaderboard crowns the fastest finishers.
Why it exists
Every community organizer knows the problem: the event is great, but the outside world never hears about it. Asking attendees to “please post about us” produces three posts and two typos. PostRally makes posting the game itself — the event floods LinkedIn in real time, in the attendees' own voices, while they compete for the top of the board.
It was born at an AWS User Group Trivandrum meetup, built for one event and then generalized so any community can run it.
Principles
- Your words, your feed. Nothing is ever auto-posted; every word is written by the participant and published only when they tap the button.
- Privacy-light by design. No analytics, no ads, no photo storage, no reading anyone's feed — see the privacy policy.
- Free for communities. Meetups, user groups, college clubs — run as many contests as you like.
